Amarin Hotel - Koh Samui

We went to Koh Samui from Hong Kong via the travel agency "travel expert". We've paid around 350 euros per person including the air flight ticket and the hotel for 3 nights. This hotel (a 4 stars) is located in the north of the island, the beach (Maenam beach) is not really pretty in this part, if you want to find a very thin sand, then go to Chaweng Beach, this is the most beautiful beach of the island. For going to Chaweng Beach from the Amarin Hotel, it takes around 20 minutes by "tuk tuk", the cost depends on the distance and the driver, you have to negociate before going up on the tuk tuk.

Service : we went there in a low season (May 2008), there wasn't many guests, and not many "waiter" too. The breakfast is correct, but attention, there is no aircond in the restaurant on the top of the hotel.

Swimming pool : very clean ! Nothing to say ! Decoration is modern and cosy, swimming pool a little small, but it's ok if it is just for having a sun bath, or for relaxing without noise.

Note : when you just arrive in the hotel for checking in, a "welcome cocktail" is offered ! Every day they changed fresh orchid in the room, it smell so good !

Nous sommes allés à sur l'ile de Koh Samui avec l'agence de voyage "travel expert" à Hong Kong. Nous avons payé aux alentours de 350 euros par personne comprenant le billet d'avion et 3 nuits d'hôtel. Cet hôtel de 4 étoiles est situé dans le nord de l'île (Maenam beach), où la plage n'est pas très jolie. Si vous préférez le sable fin, il faut se rendre à Chaweng Beach, c'est LA plus belle plage de l'ile. Pour s'y rendre de l'hôtel, il faut compter à peu près 20 min en "tuk tuk", le coût du trajet est négociable.

Service : nous y étions en basse saison (mai 2008), il n'y avait pas beaucoup de clients, ni de personnel d'ailleurs. Le petit déjeuner est correct, mais attention, il n'y a pas de clim dans le restaurant ouvert !

La piscine : très propre ! Rien à dire ! La décoration est moderne et cosy, la piscine un peu petite, mais idéal pour bronzer ou se reposer dans l'ombre d'un bruit.

A noter : lorsque vous arrivez pour le check in, vous êtes accueillis avec un cocktail de bienvenue offert ! Chaque jour, ils vous mettent de nouvelles orchidées dans la chambre, et ça sent bon !
